It's been a cool spring in Jefferson County, but we're enjoying every breezy minute of it! Too often we go straight from winter to summer. Are you feeling energetic? Charity golf tournaments and 5K and 10K races are scheduled almost every week. These events are a great way to have fun while supporting worthy causes.
We have some breaking news regarding the First Time Homebuyers Tax Credit. It was announced this week that those qualifying for the $8,000 credit will be allowed to use their credit to help cover their down payment and closing costs. In the past, buyers couldn't access the money until after closing, and then only after filing their tax return. Exactly how lenders will implement this change is still being resolved. We've asked the lenders with whom we do the most business to keep us informed of this very beneficial change.
