October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month across the country. There are many Breast Cancer Awareness activities going on in Jefferson County, WV. Free Haircuts for Survivors
The entire month of October, the JCPenney in Martinsburg, WV will be giving free haircuts out to women who have survived breast cancer. One dollar each from all other haircuts will be donated to support breast cancer research, up to $50,000. For more information, click here.
Breast Cancer Awareness Event
On October 27th, there will be a Breast Cancer Awareness Event in Ranson, WV at The Inn of Charles Town. The event is sponsored by Sisters United. Local professionals will speak about mammograms and recent developments in technology. For more information, click here.
For the month of October, West Virginia University Hospitals will be offering discounted digital mammograms in both Martinsburg, WV and Ranson, WV. The discounted mammograms will cost $60 each and are open to women age 35 and over. For more information, click here.
Pink Luncheon and Purse Auction
The Jefferson County, WV CEOS Council is organizing the 6th annual purse auction. It will be held October 28th at The Inn in Charles Town. All proceeds go to the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment fund. For more information, click here.
